Police are still in search for two men over recovered stolen properties

Police are looking for two men who were alleged to be part of a group who allegedly purchased electrical and other items worth more than $71,000 using stolen Government cheques.

Police Spokesperson, Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed in a statement that the cheque belongs to Bio- Security Authority of Fiji .

Meanwhile a 25 year old taxi driver of Raiwaqa one of the men involved is currently in police custody after a police raid recovers electrical items worth more than $17,000 from his home in Jittu Estate.

The allege offence took place early this year.

Police are still in search of 2 male indo/Fijian accomplices who are still at large.

Sokomuri said the recovered items include nine laptops, five flat screens, three outboard engine two 40 horse power outboard engine and one laptop bag.

?The items were purchased from major retail outlets in Suva and in the Western Division,? he said in a statement.

However, we are once again calling on Business managers and shop assistant to be cautious and verify cheques issued by customers.
