More than 59,000 people living in villages and rural communities throughout Fiji now have access to clean, safe drinking water, thanks to the assistance given by the Rotary Pacific Water for Life Foundation (RPWLF).

The FIJI Water Foundation is ensuring that this work continues, with FIJI Water?s company President, David Ricanati, presenting Aslam Khan, RPWLF Chairman, with a cheque for $150,000 at small reception held in Suva last night (Thursday 28 February).

In making the presentation, Mr Ricanati said that the FIJI Water Foundation is proud of its partnership with RPWLF, and to be able to contribute to the building of sustainable water infrastructure where it is most needed throughout Fiji.

?Fiji has the best water in the world but the issue is one of access, particularly in rural communities and villages. Lack of access to clean, safe water can have an enormous impact on the health of the people living in rural communities,? said Mr Ricanati.

?The FIJI Water Foundation is committed to giving back to the community by investing in projects that develop the infrastructure necessary to deliver clean water.?

In expressing appreciation on behalf of RPWLF for FIJI Water Foundation?s donation, Mr Khan said, ?This generous contribution will go a long way in helping RPWLF to continue to build the infrastructure required to provide safe, clean drinking water to rural communities in Fiji.?

?RPWLF has already carried out projects in 200 communities throughout the country, thanks in part to donations by our partner, the FIJI Water Foundation.?
