The final players named for the Digicel Fiji 7s team aims to focus more on their defence in order to defend the Hong Kong 7s title.

Head Coach, Alivereti Dere said they will be working on their defence as it has been a key factor to their loss from Wellington Las Vegas 7s.

?In the last series we have worked at our set pieces and kick offs and our defence pattern that has let us down in the last leg.?

?We?ll look back at the last two leg, our performance not that good and we didn’t play to our strength and going into this Hong Kong leg. We?ve got a very slim chance in defending that cup. So we are working hard in trying to get back to our game as usual,? he said.

Only three players of the current team have played in the Hong Kong 7s who are Captain Nemani Nagusa, Osea Kolinisau and Ilai Tinai.

Kolinisau who was named assistant captain of the squad, said he will work according to what has been planned.

?I just like to pick off from where the team left off from the last leg, and work as a team and work on the pattern of play that the coach has been giving us, so we can retain the title in Hong Kong,? he said.

The other nine will play in the Happy Valley for the first time.

The Hong Kong 7s starts next Friday with Fiji taking on Hong Kong at 9.06pm.

On Saturday Fiji will meet Spain at 2.06pm and their last pool match is against Canada at 10.54pm.
