1. Money Laundering

A 43years old, former Accountant of TLTB was arrested for transferring lease monies amounting to $191,371.69 to 5 different bank accounts.

He also deposited $136,450.44 to his personal ANZ bank account.

The Suspect is charged for a count of Unauthorized Modification of Data and 9 counts of Money Laundering he is kept in custody and will appear in court today.

2. Drugs

A 42 years old farmer of Vunisea village is in police custody after six parcels of dried leaves believed to be marijuana was found in his possession. The farmer was arrested at Vunisea jetty.

After arresting the suspect his farm at Nateiligi was searched and 119 plants believed to be marijuana height ranging from 30cm to 190 cm was uprooted.

The plants are send to Koronivia for analysis.

Police is again warning people who involve themselves in this illegal trade to follow the law.

3. Missing

It is necessary that people at home are informed of our movements.

Reports have been received around the country of missing persons.

People are reported to be missing at various police stations but are later found to be with friends or relatives.

On other occasions people have been found dead after attempts of search and contacts with others.

The Fiji Police wishes to advise members of the public that life is important and the Force considers such reports serious.

Both adults and children are reminded to inform those at home of their whereabouts.

The latest missing person report is of Loata Dolesau, 18years old student of Lot 6 Flat 2 Wilkinson Street, Suva she went missing since 02/03/13 and Tevita Nawai 17 years old, form 6 student of Dudley high school residing at Drevula Road Nadera went missing since 11/3/13.

Police is requesting for information on this missing person.

4. Fire

A 61 year old of Newtown Settlement lost his timber and corrugated iron house in a fire last night.

The house was completely destroyed with its contents.

Estimated cost of damage is $20,000.00.

Cause of the fire is yet to be established as investigations continue.
