More than 400 students and 3,000 members of the local community of Lomaivuna will have access to internet services following the opening of the 11th Government community telecentre.

Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama while opening the Lomaivuna High School telecentre said more Fijians have access to computers and the internet as compared to before.

?Every time I open another telecentre, hundreds ? if not thousands ? of Fijians are plugged into Fiji?s telecommunications revolution,? PM Bainimarama said.

?What a difference this will make, especially for those who will be gaining access to a computer and the internet for the first time.

?You will join the ranks of close to 20,000 Fijians who are already using 10 community telecentres around the country.?

Lomaivuna High School principal, Naisa Koto said the Lomaivuna community was honoured to be part of Government?s move in making information more accessible.

?It is a memorable moment for us here at Lomaivuna High School and I would like to thank the government for bridging the digital divide,? Mr Koto said.

The principal also added that there was a remarkable change in the way the students carried out their research projects due to the accessibility.
