NEW HEALTH CENTRES FOR LAUTOKA AND LABASA

CAPTION: Dr Neil Sharma.

The opening of two health centres?tomorrow?in Lautoka and Labasa positions the Ministry of Health to make health services more accessible to the public.

This is the reason behind the establishment of the Kamikamica Park Health Centre in Lautoka and Nasea Health centre in Labasa, which will be officially opened?tomorrow.

Health Minister Dr Neil Sharma said that providing health services to residents in both these areas will reduce the cost of travel for those that have often travelled long distance in the past.

“As part of the decentralization of health services in Fiji, we are focusing on Lautoka this year and the new health centre is all up and ready. The access will be better and it will be friendly for staff to work in,” Dr Sharma said.

“We are working with the Punja group of companies to set up an additional health centre in Vomo Street and with Tappoo Group of companies to set up a nursing station in Drasa Vitogo.”

Minister Sharma added that the new model health centre was built after careful consideration of the needs of the public.

?This government is committed towards customer service and efficiency and as part of its reforms the Ministry is working on a number of projects with stakeholders to fulfill people?s needs.?

The Kamikamica Health Centre will be opened by Dr Neil Sharma while the Nasea Health centre will be opened by Deputy Secretary Hospital Services, Dr Metuisela Tuicakau.
