Another important regional meeting opens?tomorrow?as the Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT) Policy and Regulation Forum for the Pacific returns to Fiji for the third year in a row.
?Pacific Island nations face unique challenges in terms of delivering ICT services to their peoples. This forum allows us to discuss those challenges, spread knowledge and share experience that is specific to the Pacific region,? said Attorney-General and Minister for Communications, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
High-level representatives from Pacific Island governments, including the Prime Minister of Tonga, Lord Tu?ivakano, will be in attendance at the forum, joined by members of the APT, led by Secretary General Mr. Toshiyuki Yamada, as well as members of the private sector.
Also in attendance will be the Minister of Communications and Information Technology from Samoa, Tuisugaletau? Ali’imalemanu Sofara Aveau,? the Minister for Communications from Kiribati, Taberannang Timeon, and the Minister for Communication from Solomon Islands, Walter Folo Talu.
The forum runs from?Tuesday, August 6th, until?Thursday, August 8th, at the Novotel, Nadi.
