?As usual I?m ready to rock and win gold medals,?
That?s what Digicel Fiji?s Brand Ambassador and Pacific sprint champion, Ratu Banuve Tabakaucoro said in an interview in a special morning tea function organized by Digicel in Suva today.
?I?m thankful to the support from Digicel Fiji and I?m going to give my best shot to do my country proud in Wallis & Futuna,? said Tabakaucoro.
Tabakaucoro hopes to land a special golden birthday celebration as he turns 21 next Wednesday during the Wallis & Futuna Games.
The national sprinter dubbed the ?Bau Bullet? is looking to win three gold medals in the 100m, 200m and the 4x100m relay but isn?t counting out the chance of going for five gold medals in Wallis & Futuna.
While there isn?t a confirmation coming forth just as yet but it?s understood Tabakaucoro could be eyed also to run in the 4x400m relay and the 110m hurdles.
Tabakaucoro said, ?I think I can do it and if I feel my body is up for it then why not, I?ll give that a go.?
?I have participated at a high-class event at the World Championships in Moscow and that will be the advantage that I will boast over the other athletes at the Mini Games.?
The sprinter remains unbeaten in the 100m and 200m in the region since winning the two events in Noumea, New Caledonia in 2011.
Meanwhile, Team Fiji departs for Wallis and Futuna on Saturday.
