Trans- Pacific Touch Tournament Kicks Off

Pacific Touch Tournament organized by Touch Fiji kicked off today The Honorable Minister for Youth and Sports in Fiji, Mr Viliame Naupoto officially opening the tournament. at Nadi?s Prince Charles Park with a total of 39 teams with 14 categories that will take action in the 3 day tournament.

?Touch is a game full of enjoyment and fun and it also keeps one healthy as it requires a lot of running around,? said Head of Team Fiji Georgina Lasaqa. Touch rugby is a game played widely in the world mostly in the Asia Pacific region as the game consists of no physical connection while playing.

?Thou one doesn?t need to be extremely fit to play, and I urge people in Nadi to come and have fun with our fellow teams from Australia, Samoa and New Zealand,? added Ms Georgina.

The teams are set in categories mainly in age groups and also where both men and women play together in the same match called the ?mix masters?.

Meanwhile, Touch rugby ?a Sport for All? and organizers invites the public to come and watch top-class touch rugby action at Nadi?s Princes Charles Park from the 19th?? 21st?of September, 2013. Tickets are Adults ? $3, School Children ? $1 and Kids under 12yrs ? Free.
