Navratri is one of the most scared of festivals on the Hindu calendar. Navratri is celebrated during the nine days following the new moon day of the month of purattasi, Navratri is a hindu festival and dance. The word Navratri literally means nine nights in Sanskrit. Nava means nine and Ratri means nights. During these nine nights and ten days, nine forms of Shakti /Devi is female dignity are worshipped.
Navratri is the first three days of Goddess Durga (Goddess of valour) is venerated. The next three days are spent in the worship of the goddess Lakshmi (Goddess of Wealth) and the last three days are a celebration of the Goddess Saraswati (Goddess of learning and arts). Together the three Goddesses are worshipped as the feminine equivalent of the Hindu Holy Trinity.
Pooja on our temple starts on 5th?October, 2013. On the nineth day we have Kanya Pooja and on 10th?day evening we have kuttu Vilakku pooja for girls and married women. Devotees wishing to participate in the pooja should make prior arrangements with the chief priest or temple manager at the temple.
