A two-day (26?and 27 February) FIFA-INTERPOL Workshop on ‘Tackling Match Fixing and Corruption in Football’ will be held in Nadi, Fiji.
More than 100 delegates from around the Oceania region will attend the workshop which is a part of the FIFA-INTERPOL Training, Education and Prevention initiative.
In addition FIFA, INTERPOL — the world’s largest police organisation — and CBI the workshop will also be attended by representatives from the Oceania Football Confederation and its Member Associations, law enforcement agencies, government officials and football club owners.
The workshop will throw light on various match-fixing scenarios and the links involved, tools developed by INTERPOL to combat match-fixing and key areas to fight corruption in sports including identifying key stakeholders, importance of information collection and sharing, training and education.
