Rotaract Club of Suva charters new youth club in Nadi

The Rotaract Club of Suva in association with its parent sponsor club the Rotary Club of Suva will be forming a new youth based community service club in the West today ? 1st March, 2014.

The Rotaract Club of Nadi New Horizons, will be situated in the Jetset town and whose members will be made up of young professionals residing and working in Nadi and Lautoka.

The Rotaract Club of Suva?s President Kristyn Lobendahn said that this historical event has been a long time coming as there had been many requests for a youth initiative to be set up in Nadi.

?Our club has been working tirelessly with the Rotary Club of Suva in order to set up a new club in Nadi for young professionals wanting to do something for their community.

This would not have been successful without the encouragement of the many Rotarians in Fiji who saw the need to have more youth based rotary initiatives in Fiji,? she added.

The new club, is part of Rotary Fiji?s efforts to revive and rejuvenate some of old the Rotaract Clubs that were charted in the 1970s. Though the Rotaract Club of Nadi had previously stopped existing in 2004, under the guidance and support of the Rotaract Club of Suva, the revived club will be better and bigger than it previously was.

The District Governor of District 9920 Mr Willard Martin has traveled from New Zealand to officially charter the club at 7pm at the New Farmers Club in Nadi tomorrow night.

15 young professionals who had shown their interest to do community work will become the clubs first members.
