Two yoga experts from Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, India are visiting Fiji to train people who are interested in Yoga and to promote the health benefits of Yoga. For example, Surya Namaskar integrates simple yoga postures of well-balanced movements linked with easy breathing technique, and provides immense health benefits to both body and mind.
Bharatiya Yog Sansthan, established in 1967, is a registered social, cultural and non-profit organization. It firmly believes in Bharatiya cultural heritage and aims to re-establish by protecting and preserving it. The genesis of Yog has been adopted on the lines enshrined by Maharishi Patanjali. Healthy Living – Happy Living.
At present, more than 2000 free Yog Centres ae being run throughout Bharat (India), all the 365 days a year, by dedicated and efficient Yog Instructors trained by the Sansthan. Free yog centres have been opened in overseas countries such as Mauritius, Australia, Fiji and UK.
Two yoga experts visiting Fiji are Mr Sharat Chandra Agarwal and Mr Des Raj.
Mr Sharat Chandra Agarwal, a graduate of Delhi University and who retired as Deputy General Manager (HRD) from the International Airports Authority of India, has been associated with Bharatiya Yog Sansthan for last 25 years. He is currently the member of Central Executive Committee and the co-editor of the quarterly magazine YOG MANJARI published by the organization.
Mr Des Raj is the General Secretary of Bharatiya Yog Sansthan. He had visited all over India to deliver lectures on ashtang yog especially on Asan, Pranayam, Meditation. He delivers lectures on various diseases like arthritis, diabetes, heart problem, blood pressure, obesity and gives various tips to cure them by yoga bringing change in food and lifestyles. He has written various popular books on Yoga.
The experts believe in ?Train the Trainers concept? and they are here in Fiji to train many who are interested in Yoga.
They are conducting classes in Lautoka, Suva, Nadi and Levuka.

Entry to classes are free and it is open people of all ages, gender, and races.
