AUTHORITIES URGE PUBLIC TO MONITOR WEATHER REPORTS

The Fiji Meteorological Services are advising that a Tropical Cyclone Alert is now in force for Yasawa and Mamanuca Group, the Western half of Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.

This follows the tracking of Tropic Cyclone Lusi which currently does not pose any direct threat to Fiji.

The same weather report indicates that conditions could intensify in the next 24 ? 48 hours and is likely to produce heavy rainfall and strong winds. This is likely to cause flash flooding in some areas.
