Members of the public who wish to join the Fiji Police Force will have their last opportunity to do so thisFriday.
Following an intensive seven day recruitment drive that started in the Eastern Division last month, Deputy Director Planning Assistant Superintendent of Police Aporosa Lutunauga says the response has been overwhelming.
?We are currently carrying out the recruitment drive in Savusavu before moving to Suva on the 9th and so far we have already shortlisted 555 applicants who have passed the initial aptitude tests?.
Interested individuals residing in the Suva and greater areas who wish to pursue a career in the Fiji Police can present themselves for the preliminary selection process at the Fiji Police Academy this Friday from 8am to 11am.
ASP Lutunauga is however pleading with those intending to be present at the recruitment drive to ensure they have the proper documentation.
?What we need is for applicants to provide the original and photocopies of their documents so that we are able to verify the two as well as proper ID?s?.
?We have unfortunately had to turn applicants away to get the proper documents needed and some have opted not to come back so they?ve missed their opportunity?.
The 555 shortlisted candidates will undergo the next phase of personal interviews expected to take place on the 19th of this month. Of this number a final 155 successful candidates will be chosen to march in for the 6 month recruits course in June.
The Labasa centre has so far recorded the highest of shortlisted candidates which was held on Monday.
