Weekly Weather Summary

While there were some good accumulations of rain about the maritime region and the windward coasts of the larger islands this past week the west continued fine and dry with little significant rain. Accumulations for Monasavu for the week were 68mm with the 27mm reported on 1st August, the highest 24 hour accumulation. Fresh to strong trade winds were experienced throughout the week as a slow moving high pressure was located to the east of New Zealand. Temperature is back to more comfortable levels though most places remained cool at night as humidity remained low.

Weekend will bring more fine and sunny weather over the west. Expect warm days and cool nights with stable trade winds dominating. No sign of any significant rain bearing weather system affecting the west of Fiji at this time.
