Weekly Weather Summary

The prolonged dry spell continued over the west this past week with no rain to report. With each week the situation worsens with no significant accumulations, which is a major concern for water security and electricity generation. With this continuous dry spell aided by the gusty winds, the risk of fire remains high to extreme. The latter half of the week saw a drop in humidity; as a result mild days with cooler nights were experienced.

Good news for the drought affected parts of the west with some showers and possibly a few heavy falls with thunder likely over the weekend. This rain will not end the drought and more dry weather is expected next week.
