Weekly Weather Summary

Finally there were some good accumulations of rain over the west this past week. The predominant feature was a frontal band associated with a low pressure system which resulted in isolated showers on 29th & 30th September as it passed over the group. Accumulations for Monasavu for the week was 53mm with the 47mm reported on 30th September, the highest 24 hour accumulation for any station. The first half of the period experienced mild to warm temperatures.

The coming weekend is expected to bring back the fine and sunny weather with the possibility of isolated afternoon showers. No sign of any significant rain bearing weather systems affecting the west of Fiji at this time.
