The Prime?Minister, Hon Peter O?Neill CMG MP, has extended Papua New Guinea?s?congratulations?to Fiji for the celebration of the country?s 44th?Independence?Anniversary this Friday, 10 October.
PM?O?Neill expressed the sentiments on behalf of the people and government of?Papua New Guinea in a letter from to Fiji?s Prime Minister, Hon?Voreqe?Bainimarama.
?The?anniversary provides an excellent opportunity for all Fijians to unite in the?spirit?of solidarity and fellowship as a nation to reflect on the many?challenges and?achievements,? PM O?Neill noted in the correspondence.
The?Prime Minister reflected on bilateral relations between the two countries and?Papua?New Guinea?s commitment to maintaining, improving and further enhancing?the?relationship.
?My?government, as I have maintained in my discussions with you, remains?committed?towards improving and further enhancing all aspects of our bilateral?relations?for the mutual benefit of our people now and into the future,? the Prime?Minister continued in the letter.
The?significance of the recent election in Fiji was highlighted by PM O?Neill,?which?was also supported through funding from Papua New Guinea.
