UniFiji Law School co-hosts Luncheon Symposium on Transnational Financial Crime

The School of Law of the University of Fiji is co-hosting a luncheon symposium with the Fiji Law Society and the Reserve Bank of Fiji in Suva on Thursday, December 11th on ?Unmasking Corporate Secrecy in Transnational Financial Crime.?

The keynote speaker at the event will be Professor David Chaikin from the University of Sydney, an internationally-renowned legal scholar and practitioner specializing in transnational criminal, financial and corporate laws. Professor Chaikin is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at UniFiji?s Law School and is currently teaching an intensive summer course on Banking and Finance Law.

Among the panel of distinguished speakers who will be commenting on Professor Chaikin?s paper will be Mr Razim Buksh (Director, Fiji Financial Intelligence Unit, Reserve Bank of Fiji); Mr Vinsent Perera (Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions); Mr Richard Naidu (Managing Partner, Munro Leys); and Mr Howard Politini (President, Fiji Commerce & Employers Federation).

The symposium will be chaired by Professor Julian Moti QC, Dean of UniFiji?s Law School.

The luncheon symposium will be held at Tower 11, Reserve Bank Building, Pratt Street, Suva from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm. Admission is $75.00 and includes morning tea and a full buffet lunch.
