STUDENTS TAUGHT ON FARM MANAGEMENT AND LAND USE

Students of the Navuso Agriculture School are currently being trained on Tropical Agriculture which is a combination of both farm management and land use so as to assist them to start up their own farms in future.

The Ministry of Agriculture?s Principal Agriculture Officer (PAO) Farm Management Joape Waqabaca said some of the important lessons imparted to the students are based on soil, crops and livestock.

Mr Waqabaca said the students will benefit from the Tropical Agriculture Program because they will have the knowledge to start their own farm after they graduate.

He added that students also go through practical activities throughout the course.

?Students go through practical work in various activities such as dairy, broiler, layers, piggery and crop production,? Mr Waqabaca said.

The Certificate in Tropical Agriculture is offered at a vocational level and is a four year program where it is offered at 4 levels from year one to year four.
