SCHOOL LAUNCH ZONES

Another?seven?schools?in?the?Central?Division?have?signed?up?their?commitment?to?being?part?of?the?community?of?Neighborhood?Watch?Zones.

 

The?seven?schools?will?join?fourteen?other?schools?that?have?previously?signed?up?to?assist?the?Fiji?Police?to?setup?their?own?watch?zones.

 

Critical?issues?affecting?students?as?noted?by?the?Fiji?Police?include?truancy,?school?brawls,?loitering?in?internet?and?billiard?shops?and?the?issue?of?petty?crimes.

With?the?theme??I?watch?you,?you?watch?me??the?aim?of?the?watch?zones?is?to?build?a?sense?of?responsible?citizenry?among?students?to?understand?that?they?also?have?a?role?to?play?in?keeping?their?communities?safe.

The?six?schools?are?located?in?the?Flagstaff?Zone?and?will?join?their?peers?from?the?Toorak?and?Muanikau?Zones?that?have?already?signed?up?for?the?program.

The?launch?scheduled?this?Friday?will?begin?with?a?march?from?the?Total?Service?Station?in?Flagstaff?and?will?end?at?Marist?Brothers?High?School.

As?such?the?portion?of?the?road?from?the?two?locations?will?be?temporarily?closed?from?1.30pm???2pm?to?allow?for?the?march?procession?where?representatives?of?all?schools?will?be?present.

The?seven?schools?include?Indra?Ghandi?Primary,?The?Learning?Centre,?Marist?Brothers?High,?Yat?Sen?Primary?&?Secondary,?Holy?Trinity?and?Vatuwaqa?Primary?School.
