FIJI RURAL FASHION SHOW RECEIVES BOOST FROM INSURANCE BODY

The National women’s expo and rural women’s designer awards night 2014 today received a financial donation of $15,000 from the Life Insurance Corporation of Indian, commonly known as LICI.

The Minister for Social Welfare, Women and Poverty Alleviation Dr Jiko Luveni said this national expo will capitalise on the talents of women around the country, especially those in rural communities.

“The expo is expected to activate the network with other women from rural areas,” Dr Luveni said.

“We will be expecting 3000 women from around the country and it will expose the talents of women to business houses on how talented women,” Dr Luveni said.

LICI General Manager Vimlesh Dhar said we are delighted to support such efforts of empowering women in rural communities.

“We as a corporate entity believe in empowering women and this initiative will really reach out to the community to develop talent,” Mr Dhar said.

Mr Dhar commended the ministry for recognising women’s efforts through the national expo which is scheduled to take place in August this year.
