Members of the Nadi Central Community Policing Committee showed their appreciation towards three hardworking police personnel – Special Corporal Temesi Vakayavukia, Police Constable Vishwa Raj and Corporal Morris Chand on Wednesday, February 19 at the Nadi police station bure.

“I am thankful to the central committee for this initiative, Im here to work with all the personnel here in Nadi and we are trying to work for the betterment and safety of Nadi town,” said cfficer- in- charge Assistant Superintendent of Police Petero Tuinirarama.

Chairman of the Nadi Central Community Policing Committee Doctor Mohammed Yunus stressed that Interactive partnerships and public trust were essential tools in strengthening ties with relevant stakeholders such as government agencies and non-government organizations.

With the successful launching of the “Duavata” community policing model last year, community engagement has become a pivotal priority for members of the Nadi Central Community Policing Committee as they aim to further expand the move towards prevention of crime through the introduction of other stakeholders and potential partners.

ASP Tuinirarama commended the committee’s initiative to reward the community officers for their hard work and efforts to keep the community safe.
