The Tovu Village Women’s Groups’ prayers got answered when the Chinese Ambassador, His Excellency Mr. Zhang Ping presented a cheque to the Women’s Group representatives in Suva today.
The Tovu Village Women’s Group President, Ms. Makereta Cinavilakeba said that they were in need for this financial assistance to undertake a project of refurbishing their village community hall for revenue generation purpose in the village.
While presenting the cheque, Ambassador Ping said the Government of the People’s Republic of China was pleased to be able to assist the small communities in Fiji and especially the women of the outer islands.
Ms. Makereta thanked Ambassador Ping for the generous contribution towards her Women’s Group project. She also thanked the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Ratu Inoke Kubuabola for facilitating this request with the Chinese Embassy.
