Cakau signs with Digicel

Monday 28 April – Digicel Fiji has announced that former Fiji Rugby 7s captain, Setefano Cakaunivalu has signed up as its Brand Ambassador. Cakau represented Fiji in the last leg of the HSBC World Series where Fiji won the Tokyo title.

“I am honoured to be signed on with Digicel Fiji as its Brand Ambassador and wish to thank them for having confidence in me and providing me this opportunity,” says Cakaunivalu.

“Since being part of the Fiji 7s side, I have had a lot of support from Digicel Fiji.”

“This association will provide me with opportunities to be a part of many promotional and community activities,” added the former 7s captain.

Digicel Fiji’s Head of Marketing Ms Sheryl Singh states, “We are pleased to have Setefano as our Brand Ambassador. He is a star rugby player, a household name and a role model for Fijians and fits in well with our plans.”

Cakaunivalu made his debut for Fiji 7s in 2003 and after falling out of favour after a season returned later to claim captaincy. He’ll be leaving for to take up a coaching role with the Sri Lanka Rugby Union next month.

He has signed up for an 18-month term as brand ambassador.

He joins current Fiji 7s captain Osea Kolinisau, Pacific’s fastest man Banuve Tabakaucoro and Paralympian gold medallist Iliesa Delana as Digicel’s brand ambassadors.
