The Premier matches of the 2013 Courts Inter-district Championship took off at Lautoka’s Churchill Park this afternoon when the defending premier champs Tailevu Naitasiri were held to a nil-all draw by Nadogo in their opening match of the tournament.
Dreketi showed a star of a performance as the side battled out Tavua beating the golden boys 2-1 at full time.
In other matches Taveuni beat Lami by 2 – 1, Bua lost to Rakiraki by 1-0, Savusavu won against Seqaqa by 2-0 and Nasinu thrashed Vatukola by 5 goals to 1.
Fiji FA also held its congress meeting today at the Tanoa Waterfront Hotel in Lautoka; with Jainendra Sukhu been appointed the new VP for South today. The former Fiji FA NFL secretary won the position over Ravin Swamy and Arvind Datt who were also nominated for the position.
While, nominations for Hussein Shib and Iqbal Khan for the North and West Vice-Presidents were declared null and void, which now means that Jitendra Kumar and Girja Prasad still act as the VP’s for North and West.
Meanwhile, Super Premier matches will begin tomorrow including the official opening of the 2013 Courts IDC with Suva playing against the Costal Rental/Nokia Nadroga side at 2.15pm, Jacks Nadi taking on Navua at 3.30pm.
