Guests at Outrigger on the Lagoon ∙ Fiji participated in the annual Melbourne cup race day a little different to what they are used to back home.
The resort organized a VIP party with large screens and betting options available for their guests with a fashion parade showcasing resort wear modeled by staff and their children.
With accompanying music and cheers from the crowd the fashion parade set a rather dull and rainy afternoon up for an event to be remembered.

Outrigger on the Lagoon ∙ Fiji General Manager Peter Hopgood said the annual Melbourne Cup race day is an event that the resort looks forward to.
“We organise a brilliant race day event every year and I must admit that it keeps getting better and better. With the support from our retail outlets we are able to put on a superb fashion show using our staff and their children and it is a highlight of the event”, Mr. Hopgood stated.
“Our whole resort gets into the Melbourne cup mood and we give it just the right Fijian flare and bula spirit to make it memorable for our guests”, Mr. Hopgood continued.
A few female guests ordered hats from the local handicraft makers, adding Fijian flare to event with a few making modifications to their preexisting summer hats they brought with them on holiday.
Resort staff were clad in colourful jockey shirts celebrating the flamboyancy of the Melbourne cup races.
