Nadroga and Navosa provincial administrator Peni Koro is advising residents living along the banks of the Qoli River to be vigilant and monitor rising river levels as heavy downpour continues in the Western Division.

Mr Koro said the banks of Qoli River is prone to flash flooding and has requested residents to take precautionary measures as the current trough of low pressure continues to pass over the Fiji Group.

“These residents are aware of the incidents of flash flooding in their areas.  I am requesting those living along the Sigatoka River banks and streams, including those in low lying areas to closely monitor the weather reports,” Mr Koro said.

Mr Koro’s team is currently monitoring weather reports provided by the National Weather Office in Nadi.
