POLICE RELEASE
A special task force team has been set up to recapture escapee Josua Naivalu who escaped from Police custody yesterday morning.
Chief Operations Officer Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rusiate Tudravu says there is no excuse for what happened yesterday and an internal investigation is currently being conducted to determine what happened.
“We failed in our duty and there’s no other excuse we can give at this point so our focus will be on the recapture mission that is now being headed by a special task force team”.
“As we don’t take these types of occurrences lightly an internal investigation is also underway headed by a senior officer to find out what happened as obviously we were caught sleeping on the job”.
Members of the public are once again being encouraged to contact 917 or their nearest community post or station with information that could help locate Naivalu.
