Potential areas of investment in Fiji by Chinese business houses topped talks held yesterday between the Prime Minister Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama and senior business officials.

 

During talks held with 3 international business houses based in China, the Prime Minister pointed out that Fiji’s position as both an economic and trading hub in the region makes her a suitable country for foreign investors.

 

His first meeting was with the China Gezhouba Group Company Ltd, a construction company that has projects in Fiji including the proposed Vunidawa Sporting complex. The company carries out infrastructure projects in the Latin America and Africa continents.

 

The Prime Minister also held talks with the Executives of Hopeful Grain and Oil Group Company Ltd who raised the prospects of purchasing Fiji’s sugar.

 

Later yesterday the Prime Minister visited the telecommunications giant, Huawei Ltd at its Centre in Beijing. Here the Prime Minister was briefed on the company’s future plans to expand its ITC services and products across the globe.
