SIGATOKA METHODIST STUDENTS SHIFTED

About 400 students, who are affected after nine of the classrooms at the Sigatoka Methodist Primary School were damaged in a early morning fire, will be shifting to nearby schools by today.

Dr Brij Lal, Permanent Secretary for Education yesterday met with the school management and confirmed that three classrooms are available at Sigatoka District School while two classrooms are available at St Joan of Arc School.

Dr Lal also confirmed that normal classes should resume from this Wednesday.

Meanwhile, it has also been confirmed that the school building wasn’t insured, while cause of the fire to the building is unknown at the moment and investigations continue.
