Women officers flock to Inter- formation

Female police officers from throughout the divisions kicked off their Inter-formation tournament at the Police Special Response Unit ground in Nasinu this morning.

Teams representing female officers from all divisions of the Fiji Police Force in the games of volleyball and netball arrived in their different divisional sports uniforms.

The Criminal Investigation Department team wore pink signifying the fight against breast cancer or Pinkoctober.

The Fiji Police Inter Formation tournament will be used to select the Police netball and volleyball teams for the 2013 BSP Life Sukuna Bowl competition.

Women officers will field two netball teams and a volleyball team in the annual competition between the Police and Army.

There is also a veterans team that will play in the curtain raiser to the final tomorrow against the corrections service team.

The 2013 theme is ‘Implementing Duavata through Sports.

Last years, the Northern team won the netball competition and is the holders of the prestigious Mrs Commissioners Cup.

Headquarters is the defending champions in the volleyball competition.

The tournament was officially opened by Assistant Commissioner of Police Henry Brown.
