Youths of Nawaka village in Nadi are now working on improving the standard of their community cemetery as part of their project.

They are also being encouraged to part take in improving the standard of living in the village as it has been going on for a while after the Commissioner of Police Brigadier General, Ioane Naivalurua had launched their Nakolia Crime Prevention Committee, late last year.

Committee’s Spokesperson, Ashfaaq Khan said they are urging everyone in the community to be involved in improving their standard of living.

“We are trying to get the youths involved in this community works and to keep them busy. We also urge the Nawaka Committee to come and participate in this project.”

“We have noticed people throwing rubbish out of their compound, and we advise them to keep a clean environment,” he said.

The committee has successfully done their first project of cleaning the surroundings of the community, with 15 volunteers.

Khan also added that they are working on their second project.

“Our second project will be cleaning and painting of the Nawaka Cemetery,” he said.
