2 teenagers in custody for alleged witchcraft

Two youths are in Police custody being investigated for their alleged involvement in witchcraft.

Police in Savusavu yesterday received a report from a man alleging a group of youths had dug his elder brothers grave.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro said upon investigation it was revealed that on the 10th of November 2012 three youths, two aged 17 and one aged 19 years of age had made plans to dig up the grave of a 60 year old man who had died 4 years ago.

However proceeding with the alleged plan was a 17 and 19 year old who took the skull of the deceased and hid it under a tree one and half kilometers from the grave for the alleged purpose of witchcraft.

Naisoro said police have managed to uplift the skull from where it was buried and is now in the custody of the Savusavu Police station.
