40 year old farmer in police custody for drugs

A 40 year-old man farmer of Levuka-i-Yale, Kadavu is in police custody after 30 sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana were discovered on him.

Police Spokesman Atunaisa Sokomuri said they received information through 919 and the suspect was arrested from Narain Jetty who was a passenger of MV Sinuwasa travelling from Kadavu to Suva.

Meanwhile, in another incident a 26years old mechanic of Naduru road was arrested in Nausori town found in possession of 3 sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuna.

Sokomuri said the suspect is kept in police custody awaiting analysis.


“Police is again warning people who involve themselves in this illegal trade to follow the law,” he said.
