All the top teams make the final cut in the 38th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s

The organising committee of the 38th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s today released the final 64 teams to play in the Fiji Bitter Cup.

Seasoned with past and present champions, the stage looks all set to go come next week at the ANZ Stadium. The task to make the final 64 teams has been a tough one, as once again many teams will be left out which is disappointing. The organisers would have valued more teams to participate but logistics, time and quality of the tournament had to be taken into account.

We sincerely apologise to the teams and most especially the players that did not make it and hope next year most of them will be part of the tournament by fulfilling the registration criteria, which was accepting the first sixty four (64) teams that paid in full says Chairman and President of the Marist Rugby Club Mr Lawrence Tikaram.

In revealing the teams, the organising committee says a blend of Top Local clubs, 2 overseas teams and many new grassroots local teams will grace the occasion bringing a wealth of talent and experience and raw passion to the 38th Fiji Bitter Marist sevens. It’s so exciting to know we have many new teams participating at this year’s event and the list clearly shows our reach to grass roots rugby participation has worked and we wish all the teams the very best for this year’s event.

This event is gearing up to be one of the best ever and fans are expected to make their way down to the ANZ Stadium next week Friday and Saturday to see and support the very best of local grassroots rugby as we kick of “The Search for Rio”.
