Police are investigating a case of alleged drowning at Malake Island near Rakiraki . Dead is Osea Qata,32, of Malake village who was alleged to have drowned while spearfishing with 8 other men from the village.
The body is now at the Rakiraki Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.Police is advising members of the community to be careful while out at sea since we have recorded 8 deaths by drowning so far this year.
