Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services Hon. Veena Bhatnagar made a personal donation of utensils at the Nadi Hospital today.

Hon. Bhatnagar provided buckets, spoons and cups and handed them over to the hospital today after requests by patients for utensils during her visit there this week.

“These utensils are immediate requests by the patients during my ward round at the hospital yesterday,” she said.

“And while I was here, I asked my husband if we could contribute in a small way to ease the patients during they stay at the hospital and here we are.”

“This is one of the main aims of the public consultations that the ministry is undertaking around the country – to see what are some of the most basic needs of our hospitals and health centres. Other equipment will be bought by Government for these hospitals,” Hon. Bhatnagar said.

She also confirmed that following the requests by residents of Sigatoka at a consultation earlier this week for new linen, the ministry has purchased them and this has been delivered to the Sigatoka Hospital.”

The Assistant Minister will continue with her assessment and visitations of all health facilities in the western division next week including in Ba, Tavua, Vatukoula and Rakiraki.

She has already held consultations in Sigatoka, Nadi and Lautoka.
