The Fiji National Sports Commission, advices that after investigations, the 2008 Constitution is the only legally recognized Constitution of Athletics Fiji.
Athletics Fiji must proceed to an Annual General Meeting to be held no later than 30 March as stated under Clause 20 of the said Constitution.
It is therefore very important that all financial clubs attend the scheduled AGM to be held at FNU Conference Room, Nadi at 2pm Saturday 29th March 2014.
The draft 2010 Constitution was not ratified or adopted at an AGM as the Constitution and based on this any actions or decisions made under the 2010 Constitution is unlawful.
The concerns and issues raised at the special meeting of 25 January 2014 should be addressed at the AGM this Saturday.
The Commission reiterates the importance of everyone attending the AGM this Saturday.
We remind all elected administrators of Sports of the importance of following their own sports Constitution and of ensuring their actions protect and mentor our athletes.
