November 27, 2014. 4R Electrical Ba started their 2014 Pacific Cup campaign on a low note as they were beaten by AFFA All Stars 2-1 in the feature match of day one last night.

As expected, the match started on a high as hosts AFFA All Stars applied early pressure in Ba’s territory with Uraia Loki, Malakai Tiwa, and Esala Ali missing some early sitters into the game.

The ‘Men-in-Black’ struck first into the game as Fiji U20 rep Praneel Naidu took advantage of a defensive blunder and slammed in an acute angle shot to give Ba a 1-0 lead at half time.

The hosts came into the second half with more urgency which saw Shawn Kumar blasting home the much needed equaliser giving the home fans something to cheer for.

It then took a Ba man to score the winning goal against his home district. Malakai Tiwa used his experience in the latter stages of the game as he headed-in the winning goal following a well-timed cross from the left flank as goalkeeper Misiwani Nairube was beaten on first occasion.

Ba plays NZ Nadroga Stallions in its second pool encounter at 10.30pm (Fiji time) tonight.
