Bus accidents a cause of concern

A bus carrying students and teachers of Jasper Williams and Central College went off road yesterday along the Kings Road at Bilolo, Ba at around 1000hrs.

The bus driven by a 44 year old driver of Lautoka was conveying 39 students, 5 teachers, 4 coaches and 2 parents of the two schools bound for a hockey competition in Levuka.

One student was treated for slight tender on right elbow while others escaped injuries. The vehicle examiners report revealed the cause of accident was due to the front left spring that broke from its original position.

Investigations continue.

 Bus fire

Another case of a bus fire was recorded yesterday afternoon. The incident occurred at Nadarivatu when the 42 year old driver noticed smoke coming out from the engine compartment.

Ten passengers who were in the bus disembarked safely and the driver managed to put the fire out. Investigations continue.
