Coral Coast FHTA donate $10,000 to Sigatoka Methodist School

Sigatoka, 15th October, 2013 – The Coral Coast Fiji Hotels and Tourism Association (FHTA) chapter have donated $10,000 to the Sigatoka Methodist School to assist in the rebuilding after a portion of the classrooms burnt down last month.

The chapter made the donation at the Outrigger on the Lagoon ∙ Fiji last week (Tuesday, 8th October).

Naviti Resort general manager and chapter deputy chair David Woodman said the donation was to assist the school get back on its feet as soon as possible.

Mr. Woodman said many of the resorts employees’ children are educated at the school and the donation was to assist the school rebuild so that it can continue to educate the children of Nadroga and Navosa.

Sigatoka Methodist school manager Timoci Baro and head teacher Tevita Nagatagata accepted the donation on behalf of the school.

Mr. Baro said the donation will go a long way to assist the school rebuild its classrooms as well as help the children who lost all their school items in the fire. He said some children were traumatised by the fire and such a donation to the school is a reassurance to the children that their plight is being heard by the Sigatoka and Coral Coast communities.
