Currently under construction, the addition of the 2 storey, 836m2 Yacht Club to Port Denarau Marina represents the first stage of exciting new facilities being added to this popular tourist, yachting and local community hub.  The yacht club, which is to be named “The Rhum Ba” will incorporate a bar and casual tapas style dining on the ground level complete with a deck over the water and expansive views to the north and east across the marina to the natural beauty beyond. Upstairs provides for a modern fine dining cuisine restaurant experience also with outdoor terrace and expansive views. The upstairs space will also be used for all club events and private functions.  The building itself is designed to present an urban form with a nautical presence, aiming to complement the existing buildings within Port Denarau Marina precinct whilst setting the stage for future development to follow.  Yacht Club NW Impression web

“The Yacht Club is set to become a welcome addition and long term destination as a social gathering place for the yachting fraternity, visitors and locals alike.  Having our own facilities will allow Port Denarau Marina the opportunity to host more events such as the ANZ Auckland to Denarau yacht races and international game fishing competitions further developing the options available to locals and tourists within the maritime environment.

This is the first stage of significant development plans for Port Denarau Marina, details of which will be released in due course, with a total project investment on opening of circa FJ$3.5 million.  We are excited about the future of Fiji and in particular maritime tourism, which is seeing very significant growth year on year and has huge potential for the ongoing development of tourism in Fiji.”

“The building was the brainchild of Nigel Skeggs of Port Denarau Marina, who commissioned construction company Kyronn (Fiji) Pte Limited to undertake the design and construction of this exciting project. Whilst Kyronn may be perceived as a relative newcomer to the construction landscape here in Fiji, Kyronn has in fact a long established history and industry ties with numerous projects in Fiji, and in particular Denarau Island, with some dating back in excess of 30 years. Today, Kyronn (Fiji) Pte Limited has numerous employees with extensive Fijian construction experience which has been coupled to parent company Kyronn Pty Ltd of Queensland, Australia. Proudly possessing a team that has international experience in design and construction of property developments from waterfront palatial homes to integrated resorts and commercial centres, Kyronn’s work is always undertaken with a mindfulness to the projects commercial, environmental and quality objectives.”

– Gavin Boyle, Managing Director, Kyronn (Fiji) Pte Ltd

“In determining the right contractor for the Denarau Yacht Club, Kyronn was able to impress Nigel Skeggs with its proactive approach in responding to the design brief and its ability to incorporate quality design and construction within a turnkey delivery model. With other projects in Fiji underway and with more in the pipeline, Kyronn (Fiji) Pte Limited is firmly committed to its long term presence in Fiji and has the capacity to be involved with any projects from inception through to operations.”
