Digicel 3G+ in Coral Coast

Digicel brand ambassador overjoyed as his home town Sigatoka now on 3G+ network with the latest rollout also including Rakiraki, Levuka and Kadavu.

Friday 12th September 2014 – Digicel Fiji, today, has announced that three more towns and an island, Sigatoka, Rakiraki, Levuka and Kadavu are now on the new 3G+ network. This move is part of Digicel Fiji’s FJ$70m investment announced last month.

Fiji’s Paralympics gold medalist and Digicel Fiji brand ambassador, Mr. Iliesa Delana was thrilled to learn of the new 3G+ service introduced in his town, Sigatoka.

Delana said,” This is excellent news for the Digicel customers in Sigatoka and I am sure they will take advantage of the new 3G+ service which is now been offered to them. Sigatoka residents have a choice now for better service and affordable data rates on their mobiles.”

“Digicel customers in Sigatoka are now on par with the rest of the country and they too can enjoy superior internet speeds on their mobile devices,” added the Nadrala villager, who won a historic gold medal for Fiji at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.

Digicel Fiji Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Darren McLean said, “The 3G+ roll-out in the Coral Coast is expected to boost tourism. Most tourists holidaying in the resorts and hotels in Sigatoka travel with mobile devices and the Digicel 3G+ will allow them to stay connected with family and friends via social network sites.”

Digicel customers in Rakiraki, Levuka and Kadavu Island are also on the new 3G+ network.

Kadavu Islander, Ms. Mereani Tagicakibau heaped praise on Digicel Fiji for introducing 3G+,” It is a wonderful experience and the internet speed is really fast.”

“I stay connected with family and friends on Facebook and uploading or downloading pictures is really fast. It’s also faster to download videos on You Tube,” added the Ciliva District School-teacher from Ono.

McLean added, “Digicel is committed to building Fiji’s best data network and more towns and islands will soon be enjoying the Digicel 3G+ service.”
