Digicel customers can now send donations to Save the Children Fiji by using Digicel Mobile Money (DMM), an innovative service where Digicel customers can use their mobile phones to transfer money.
Digicel Fiji’s Head of Marketing Ms. Sheryl Singh states, “With DMM, customers’ phones act as an ‘electronic wallet’. It is a secure, convenient and affordable way to manage money transfer. Not only does it allow our customers to transfer money, they can use DMM for other services such as paying their bills and topping up their phone”.
“To use DMM, customers are required to register by typing *888# and following simple onscreen instructions. Once the customers are registered, they can use the services available through DMM. Those who wish to transfer funds to Save the Children may do so by sending their contributions to account number 7654321,” said Ms. Singh.
“We at Digicel support the mission of Save the Children and are happy to play a part in terms of providing a platform through which donations can be facilitated,” she said.
Save the Children Fiji’s Fundraising Manager, Mr. Deo Raju states, “since Digicel Mobile Money was setup, it has been used quite often and we are happy with the response. Many of our supporters have been using the DMM service to donate to Save the Children”.
Mr. Raju adds that DMM was fast and convenient and they were delighted with their partnership with Digicel.
“All donations received by Save the Children are channeled towards Education, Children’s rights, Research and Emergencies,” said Mr. Raju.
