By SATISH NARAIN of Digicel

Thursday 15 August – Digicel Fiji is proud to partner with the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union ahead of the Deans finals in Suva on Saturday.

This is a major boost for the 12 secondary schools teams playing in the six age-grade finals at the ANZ Stadium.

Digicel Fiji will present the player-of-the-final in each category from the under-14s to the 19s with a bundle prize during the trophy presentation ceremony.

The player-of-the final will receive a new Digicel smartphone in the box, a Digicel tee-shirt and a Digicel rugby ball.

“We will have around 300 players featuring in the day long finals and this partnership will provide them an added incentive at the school’s show-piece rugby event,” said Coke Zero Deans sponsors spokesman, Mr. Lawrence Tikaram.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to support grass roots rugby and mirrors our mission as Digicel Fiji has been sponsoring the national provincial rugby competition and the national 7s rugby team,” said Digicel Fiji’s head of marketing, Ms. Sheryl Singh.

“We know the importance to support our secondary schools stars and we are proud to lend our support and join hands with the major sponsors in providing the prizes,” said Ms. Singh.

Traditional secondary schools rugby giants Queen Victoria and Ratu Kadavulevu Schools have qualified half of the pack of the finals schedule.

The West will be represented by Natabua in the Under-14 final while Ratu Navula will feature in the Under-16 and the Deans Under-18 match.

The Southern Zone will be represented by Marist Brothers High by their ‘Dream Team’ in the Under-16 final while the Flagstaff school will also be in the Under-19 final.

The Coke Zero secondary schools finals kick-off at 9am at the ANZ Stadium, Suva with the QVS vs Natabua clash in the Under-14 grade while the main match of the day, for the holy grail of schools rugby, the Deans Trophy between defending champions QVS and Ratu Navula starts at 3pm.
