Digicel to sponsor Fiji Car Club event for the first time with a substantial cash injection
Friday, 1st August 2014 – Digicel Fiji today, announced its support for the quarter mile drag race to be held at the Nanuku Aerodome in Pacific Harbour on Sunday, 10th August.
Digicel Fiji’s Head of Corporate Sales, Dharmend Sharma presented the Fiji Car Club with a cash sponsorship of $4,000.
“This is the first time for Digicel to sponsor a Fiji Car Club event and we are delighted to partner with the sport,” said Sharma.
“I believe the sport has great potential to grow and we are throwing our support behind drag racing which has a keen following in the country.”
There will be up to 40 cars competing in the Digicel quarter mile drag race in Pacific Harbour with prominent Suva businessman, Ravin Nath as the defending champion.
Fiji Car Club President, Raizal Hanif received the sponsorship and was elated to receive support from Digicel for the first time.
“We welcome Digicel Fiji’s kind gesture and thank them for the cash sponsorship of the quarter mile drag race. We look forward to this partnership to grow in the future,” said Hanif.
The Digicel quarter mile drag race starts at 11am on Sunday week in Pacific Harbour.
