Diversity Visa (DV)-2015 Lottery Registration Opens Today

The Embassy of the United States of America announces that the online registration for the DV 2015 Program (also known as the green Card Lottery) opened today, Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 4:00 am, local Fiji Time, and will conclude on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 4.00am, local Fiji Time.  See the Diversity Visa Program Instructions webpage for the DV 2015 Instructions and any available translations.

The annual DV program is administered by the Department of State and makes available 50,000 permanent resident visas to persons meeting the simple, but strict eligibility requirements.

Application will only be accepted electronically through the designated website: www.dvlottery.state.govduring the registration period.  Paper entries will not be accepted.

Applicants are strongly advised not wait until the last week of the registration period to enter as heavy demands may result in delays and difficulties in registering online.

To enter the Diversity Visa program and be awarded an Immigrant Visa to the United States, you must meet either the education or work experience requirement of the DV program. You must have either a high school education or its equivalent, known as Form Six or School Leaving Certificate in the Pacific Region; OR two years of work experience within the past five years in an occupation requiring at least two years of training or experience to perform.  Not all occupations qualify.  The U.S. Department of Labor’s O*Net Online database will be used to determine qualifying work experience. This requirement cannot be waived.

Only one application must be submitted for each person.   Family applications must include spouse, and allunmarried children under 21 years of age, with the exception of children who are already U.S. Citizens or Legal Permanent Residents.  Failure to fill out the form correctly will result in disqualification from the program.

The Department of State does not endorse, recommend or sponsor any information or material from outside entities.  The Department is aware that websites and email have masqueraded as official Diversity Visa Lottery facilitators.  Registration for the Diversity Visa Lottery through the official, U.S. government website,www.dvlottery.state.gov is free of charge and notification of winning entries are sent by mail only.
