Last years runner up Lautoka made a winning start of their 2014 Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants campaign after beating Navua 1-0 at Goving Park in Ba earlier today, August 22.
The Blues looked more promising going into the game with heads high and started dominating possession from the first whistle.
However, Navua could have taken the lead early in the game but a deadly save by goalkeeper Senirusi Bokini ensured Lautoka not to concede a goal as both teams rested nil-all at the breather.
Lautoka came firing into the second half as Ratu Josefata Dugucagi got the goal of the match in the 47th minute showing his individual skills beating two Navua defenders and came in with a shot from outside the 18-yard box that gave goalie Sheik Moshin no chance at all.
Navua tried all way possible to get a goal, but some saves from blues goalkeeper and the stubborn defenders kept the score intact as Lautoka secured their maximum three points from the encounter.
Suva and Lautoka both registered a win today as Suva takes a slender lead having got four goals to their name as compared to Lautoka’s one.
